Daylight and the importance thereof

Ladies, all the ladies:
I want to urge you to look at your face in daylight.
I want you to get that foundation tester, dispense on to the back of your hand and test it on your jawline.
I don't like to point fingers but this is a problem which even the foxiest of the Barrymores has not evaded.

You very much need your foundation to disappear on your face.
It should match your skin tone and serve to even it out.
Foundation was not designed to give your face a tan, nor give you a faux Sophie Ellis-Bextor porcelain complexion.
There are so many amazing products now and the technology is such that powder is a rarely required substance, in my experience.
I understand the t-zone shine of doom, I know it of old.
If you too apply your base and then worry that your nose and chin will betray you later - get yourself some MAC blot films.
I promise you they will absorb the oil and leave your make up.

If not for you, then please, do it for me!

MUA & bridesmaid - episode 1.

Here you'll find my school friend Sarah. She asked me to be her bridesmaid, bossed me about for the best part of a year, bought me a lovely frock and put lots of trust in me to do her make up on her very special day.

This is a girl who is blessed with never wearing any make up and still looks smashing. Sarah even let me take control of her eyebrows, something which I never thought possible - but weddings are extraordinary times.

Our other very good friend, Alex was also bridesmaid and it was my first experience of dual duties. There was a SCHEDULE to be followed on the morning of the wedding and how we laugh now about the 15 mins I was allocated to do my own make up...

Pleased as punch to be able to contribute something so important to a friend's wedding....and the hen night...

Lots of love Mrs McDonald xxx

Well, everyone else is doing it!

I'm venturing into the world of the blog, previously avoided due to grumblings of 'not having the time' and feelings that surely noone on earth would read it, it dawns on me that I need somewhere to put all the lovely pictures I have piled up on this here shiney notebook. Excuse me while I try to work this all out, I'm a dab hand with a brush but technologically simple.....
